The St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund is a truck driver charity that helps drivers whose medical problems have led to financial hardship. Just before Christmas, the St. Christopher Fund announced that the SCF has given a total of $853,459.35 since the charity’s inception in 2007 and is now well on its way to the $1 million mark.

In 2013, the organization gave $193,339.13 to qualifying truckers and their families.  As of December 2014, the SCF has given $316,057.79 for this year.

“In just one week we have given $20,759.45 to support beneficiaries,” said Shannon Currier, operations manager and director of philanthropy and development. “That’s a lot of checks in one week.”

SCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Along with assistance, the SCF also conducts health research to benefit truck drivers and the trucking industry.  For more information or to make a donation, visit truckersfund.org or send a letter to P.O. Box 30763, Knoxville, Tenn. 37930.
