New York state is prohibiting commercial vehicles on certain interstates in anticipation of up to 16 inches of snow expected to fall in Eastern New York. As of Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, all commercial vehicles were prohibited on the east-west Interstate 84 from the Pennsylvania state line to the Connecticut state line.

Tandem trucks are prohibited on the north-south I-87 between New York City and Albany and on I-90 between exits 24 and 32 west of Utica, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo activated state emergency operations on Wednesday.
