There won’t be a shakeup in the Republican leadership of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Current chair Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Pa., was re-elected to the position by the House Republican Conference on Nov. 19.

“I look forward to continue serving as Chairman of a committee so vital to our nation’s future,” said Shuster in a press release. “By having a strong infrastructure we not only create jobs and economic growth for American businesses and consumers here at home, but we remain competitive with the rest of the world.”

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association congratulated Rep. Shuster on his re-election and is looking toward continuing to work with the lawmaker in the future.

“Rep. Shuster has shown bipartisan leadership as chair of the Transportation Committee during the past two years, and OOIDA looks forward to working with him and his staff moving forward, especially on a highway bill. The chairman, a former small-business owner himself, understands the issues facing small-business truckers, and we applaud his reappointment as the head of this important committee,” said Ryan Bowley, OOIDA director of government affairs.
