New York Sen. James L. Seward, R-Oneonta, has announced that the rest area along I-88 eastbound between Exit 18 and 19 in Worcester will reopen by Nov. 21.

Six rest areas were closed by the New York State Department of Transportation back in 2010. Worcester is the only one to reopen. Only parking will be available at this time. Restrooms and other amenities will be opened sometime in 2015.

The Worcester rest area includes 15 truck parking spaces, 20 car parking spaces, 2 handicapped car spaces, restrooms, pay phones, vending machines, picnic area and a pet walk.
