Travel plazas, fuel stops still seeking normalcy

Mindy Long, spokeswoman for the Natso Inc., a national association of truck stop and travel plaza owners, said the association has been monitoring its members and is finding that fuel supply lines are gradually getting back to normal.

"Most of (our members) are up and running and do have fuel at this time," Long told Land Line.

Long cautioned that there could still be difficulties in some areas, particularly those hit hardest by the storm.

"Some locations are accepting cash only," she said. "Most are not rationing at this point. There were a couple that still had a limit as of yesterday afternoon."

Long said the best thing drivers can do if they are unsure whether or not a station will have fuel is to call that particular station ahead of time.
