Police in Georgia have arrested one man for armed robbery of an on-duty truck driver on Monday, Oct. 13. Two suspects in the case remain at large.
According to a news release from the Bibb County, Ga., sheriff’s office, three men hid underneath a diesel rig and pulled weapons on a truck driver in the early hours of Monday. The truck driver had finished a delivery at the Kroger grocery store at 400 Pio Nono Ave. in Macon, Ga., at 2:35 a.m. Monday when he was accosted by the men.
After the driver handed over his wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash, the three men fled on foot.
Bibb County Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to the robbery and canvassed the area around the Kroger’s. Deputies found one man as he tried to hide under the crawl space of an abandoned house. The other two suspects got away, the news release said.
Harold Dewayne Preston II, 21, of Macon, Ga., was being held without bail at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex on charges of armed robbery.
Police investigators remain on the lookout for two additional suspects in the case. Suspect number two was described as a short, black male with a slender build. He was last seen wearing all red clothing and a red bandanna over his face.
Suspect number three is a black male last seen wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt. He was wearing a black bandanna over his face.
