Truck driver unharmed after rig pelted with tomatoes, other objects

A truck driver in Pennsylvania was unharmed after his rig was struck by tomatoes and other objects thrown by at least one individual, according to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The driver, who was not identified in the state police report, was traveling eastbound on State Route 901 near Black Creek Road in Barry Township at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when a person or persons began throwing tomatoes and other unknown objects at his tractor trailer.

The objects smashed the driver’s side front windshield, forcing the driver to pull over. The damaged truck was towed from the scene and another truck was brought in to remove the trailer. The suspect or suspects fled the scene.

The driver worked for Reinhart Food Services. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 570-739-1330.
