One of the industry’s favorite shows is almost here. The Guilty By Association Truck Show in Joplin, Mo., is on the calendar for Sept. 26-27. Because this is a trucker appreciation show, there is no entry fee for truckers entering their trucks in the show. Spectator admission for the truck show is free, too.
With nearly 300 working show trucks on display, there will be plenty of heavy machinery to gawk at. Friday will include a tractor, truck and semi pull. CDL holders get into the pull competition for free, but there’s a fee of $5 for adult spectators. Kids 10 and under are free.
Saturday evening will feature a big rig convoy in support of Special Olympics. In addition to trucks, an abundance of other events to enjoy include a shop and facility tour, mechanical bull rides, a World War II plane flyover, a strongman competition, fireworks and a street party in downtown Joplin. Golf carts are available to rent throughout the weekend.
Mark Reddig, host of OOIDA’s Sirius XM radio show, “Land Line Now,” will be on hand, along with Jon Osburn, pilot of OOIDA’s Western Star tour truck, “Miss Eleanor.”
