The Big Iron Classic truck show is scheduled for Sept. 5-6 at the Dodge County Fair Grounds in Kasson, Minn. Proceeds will go to collect toys for charity.
Last year’s show had 600 bobtails, combo and custom combo trucks and 15,000 attendees. Show organizers say it’s the largest “working class” truck show in the Midwest and is expected to be even bigger this year.
Truck viewing will start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. each day. Saturday evening will feature the truck pull competition. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each of the four classes: antique, road class, modified road class and open. Admission to the truck pull is $8 for ages 13 and older. Pit passes are available for $20. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult.
A light show will be held on Friday and will run for a couple hours. The “Parade of Big Rigs” will be held Saturday in Mantorville, just a mile north of Kasson. Live entertainment will be provided both nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. If the weather gets too hot, attendees can get a cold drink at the beer garden.
Admission to the show is free. Overnight parking will be available at $20 per night. For more information, call Jim Finn at 507-208-0222 or visit bigironclassic.com.
