OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:

  • Roy R. Cooper of Coloma, Mich., has been recognized for 36 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • John B. Redding III of Marshalltown, Iowa, has been recognized for 25 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Rod C. Abrams of Dayton, Ohio, has been recognized for 17 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Gerald and Jackie Engebretson of New Auburn, Wis., have been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Matt J. Molln of Indianola, Iowa, has been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Tony F. Reynolds of Harlingen, Texas, has been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Scott Sargent of Holmen, Wis., has been recognized for 13 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Dave A. Billinger of Osawatomie, Kan., has been recognized for 11 years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • John West of Sumter, S.C., has been recognized for nine years of safe, accident-free driving.
  • Hamlin T. Raney III of Wake Forest, N.C., has been recognized for four years of safe, accident-free driving.


The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
