Annual Billboard awards: Shell Rotella will sponsor Haul of Fame

Shell Rotella is a sponsor of the 10th annual Billboard Tour Conference and Awards taking place Nov. 13-14 in New York.  The conference culminates in The Billboard Touring Awards, which honors the industry’s top artists, venues, and professionals based primarily on achievements on the Billboard Boxscore chart. In its second year as a sponsor, Shell Rotella is taking its support a step further by teaming with Billboard to create the Shell Rotella Haul of Fame.

The Shell Rotella Haul of Fame celebrates the hardworking trucking and touring community from the music industry’s Top 10 Haulers of the past decade. Inductees are those who move the most trucks and buses across North America, bringing music to the people safely and efficiently. Hundreds of tour buses and vendor big rigs course through North America every week, delivering thousands of shows to millions of fans annually. 

Touring drivers and crews put in thousands of miles on the road each year to ensure America’s top performers and musicians are able to take the stage. The Shell Rotella Haul of Fame’s first tour selections are Bon Jovi, Brad Paisley, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, The Rolling Stones, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, U2 and the Vans Warped Tour. One of the tours will be named Live Music Hauler of the Decade at the Billboard Touring Awards.

The artists, tours and productions that make up this Haul of Fame crossed the entire Lower 48 and Canada over the past decade, rolled up to venues more than 4,000 times, and traveled nearly 2 million miles leveraging some 200 motor coaches and nearly 500 tightly packed trailers and haulers combined on every tour.

Dan Arcy, OEM technical manager for Shell Lubricants, will participate in a seminar at the Billboard Touring Conference and Awards, speaking aboutproduction and transportation in the touring industry.
