Wreaths Across America sets goal at half-million wreaths on veterans' graves

| 11/6/2013

The national program Wreaths Across America is looking for volunteers to haul wreaths that will be laid at the graves at Arlington on Saturday, Dec. 14, a day that’s been designated as National Wreaths Across America Day.

The group’s mission is “remember, honor, teach” and it’s carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington, as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states, ceremonies at sea, and 24 national cemeteries on foreign soil.

This year, the goal is to place 500,000 wreaths on veterans’ graves in 2013.
