OOIDA urges members to take part in hours-of-service survey

OOIDA is urging small-business trucking professionals to contribute to a survey about hours of service in an effort to educate lawmakers about the issues.

The Association has been invited to present comments to the U.S. House of Representatives’ Small Business Committee about how the July 1 change to HOS is affecting truckers.

“The Association needs your information as a representative of the trucking industry,” OOIDA leadership stated in a Call to Action to members. “This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard.”

Click here to take the survey, which was prepared by the OOIDA Foundation. It asks some basic information and asks how the HOS changes are affecting you, the small-business trucker. The July 1 change to HOS included a mandatory 30-minute break and altered the 34-hour restart provision, for example.

OOIDA plans to include results from the survey in its testimony to the Small Business Committee on Nov. 21 in Washington, D.C.
