Alert issued for missing Tucson trucker

The Missing Truck Driver Alert Network has issued an alert for a Tucson trucker who has been missing since Sept. 28.

The missing driver is 53-year-old Lawrence P. Muirhead, whose last known whereabouts was in Kansas City, Mo.

Muirhead, an OOIDA member, was driving his red 2004 Freightliner Columbia with a 52-foot flatbed trailer load of highway road signs. According to the alert, Muirhead was traveling from Franklin, Penn., to Nogales, Ariz.

Muirhead stands approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds with a muscular build. His hair color is listed as brown. His eyes are blue, and he does not suffer from any known medical issues.

His red Freightliner has an Arizona license plate AE 75116, motor carrier number 804341 and DOT number 2349802.

The alert states that law enforcement in Tucson has been contacted about Muirhead’s disappearance. There is no GPS monitoring system on the tractor or trailer. Possible routes he may have taken include Interstate 35, U.S. Highway 54, I-40, I-25, New Mexico Highway 26, I-10, and Arizona Highway 90.
