Those who plan ahead to attend the Heart of America Trucking Show on Oct. 18-19 at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., should preregister now while it’s still free. All attendees must register for OOIDA’s 40th anniversary celebration event. You can register for free if you do it online by Sept. 30. After that, it’s $10 online and at the gate.

In addition, if you register by Monday, Sept. 30, you are automatically entered for a drawing for a $500 Cabela’s gift certificate for the prize and two $250 gift certificates for runners up.

Cabela’s Kansas City, Kan., store is located just off I-70 and I-435 near the Kansas Speedway.  In addition to offering outdoor merchandise, the 180,000 square-foot showroom is an educational and entertainment attractions, featuring museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats.

Ready? Register at ooidatruckshow.com. The drawing for the gift cards is planned for the first week in October.

Two other members have won some really sweet prizes by registering early. Ernie Campbell, an OOIDA senior member from Fayette, Mo., won a 32-inch TV by preregistering early.

Wanda Bernard of Lil Bit Transport is another winner. Wanda is an OOIDA member from Baldwin, Mich. She and her husband, Michael Cwikiel, are registered for both days.

Wanda’s early registration won a free suite for three nights at an award-winning resort near the Speedway. The Great Wolf Lodge is recognized as one of the nation’s top family resorts. From the hotel, you can see (and hear) the Speedway. The massive northwest-themed lodge features an indoor water park. As winners, the family also gets a free pass to the water park.
