Alert issued for missing Colorado Springs trucker

The Missing Truck Driver Alert Network has issued an alert for a Colorado Springs trucker who has been missing since Sept. 1.

The missing driver is 47-year-old Marty Weller, whose last known whereabouts was a truck stop in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., at approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Weller was driving his 1996 Freightliner with a purple paint job and flames on the side of the cab. According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Weller was transporting a load of beer to Concord, N.C., that should have been delivered on Sept. 3.

Weller stands approximately 6 feet tall. His hair color is listed as bald, with possibly some blond hair. His eyes are blue, and he suffers from undisclosed medical issues.

His purple Freightliner has “Billy Moore Trucking” stenciled on the sides of the cab, as well as a Colorado license plate 603-XAJ or 604-XAJ, Motor Carrier number 776051 and DOT number 948107. The tractor is hauling either an enclosed dry van or reefer trailer.

The alert states that law enforcement in Colorado, Texas and Tennessee have been contacted about Weller’s disappearance. Weller’s cell phone was last pinged to a frontage road at Highway 83 and Interstate 35 in Texas. There is no GPS monitoring system on the tractor or trailer.
