Police are still searching for a man suspected of shooting a truck driver three times around 10:52 p.m. on July 16 in the parking lot of a convenience store in Aiken, S.C.

Capt. Eric Abdullah of the Aiken County, S.C., Sheriff’s Office told “Land Line Now” on Thursday, July 25, that the victim, whose name is not being released at this time, and another truck driver were standing outside of their trucks at the Kent’s Korner convenience store on Highway 19 in Aiken. They were approached by a man wearing a mask and wielding a gun.

“He demanded whatever they had,” Abdullah said. “The witness told deputies the suspect fired his weapon after the victim in this case threw his coffee mug at the suspect.”

He said the suspect, described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing a white T-shirt and jean shorts, fled the scene before officers arrived on the scene.

The 54-year-old truck driver remains in critical condition.

Investigators still have no leads in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 800-922-3211.
