Police in Lynchburg, Va., are seeking the public’s help in tracking down the person or persons responsible for a burglary at a trucking company that resulted in the theft of $7,000 worth of truck tires and wheels.

At 7:18 a.m. on Friday, June 21, officers responded to Truck Enterprises of Lynchburg at 5605 Pleasant Valley Road in Lynchburg, according to Det. Terry Wecker.

Wecker said that sometime during the night, someone entered a secure area and stole wheels and tires off a new glider kit. The business was closed at the time of the incident.

Wecker said the fence surrounding the business had been cut to allow entry. She said police aren’t sure whether there was more than one suspect.

“Being that the tires on a tractor trailer typically weigh 200 pounds, it could be a possibility (that there was more than one suspect) just based on the size,” she said.

Wecker said anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 888-798-5900.
