In Dallas, police have identified the trucker found dead at a truck stop early Wednesday as 68-year-old Harold Curry of Cloverdale, IN. Curry was an owner-operator leased to Warren Transport. He was a 25-year member of OOIDA.

A security guard at the USA Travel Center just north of Interstate 20 spotted Curry’s body on the edge of the parking lot around 2 a.m.

Early reports cited police as saying his body showed signs of trauma. However, a police spokeswoman told OOIDA media that Curry only had an abrasion above one eye that could be consistent with falling.

Curry had reportedly run out of fuel and was carrying a 5-gallon container of diesel from the travel center to his truck.

Police are waiting the medical examiners report. In the meantime, authorities are calling the cause of death “uncertain.”
