Utility introduces new side skirt

Utility Trailer Manufacturing – maker of refrigerated trailers, dry freight vans, flatbeds and Tautliner curtain-sided trailers – is introducing a new side skirt and will be showing it off at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville March 21-23.

The new design is EPA SmartWay-verified to achieve greater than 5 percent fuel savings. It can be used in combination with low-rolling-resistance tires on Utility trailers to achieve California Air Resources Board compliance for California operations.

The USS-120A-4’s galvanized high-tensile steel bracing system, which allows the side skirt to flex both inward and outward, can also be bent back to its original shape if damaged. The side skirt is manufactured with a UV-protected bidirectional FRP construction.

The side skirt has a five-year warranty and is available as a factory or dealer installation option for new Utility trailers. Retrofitting for existing trailers is available through Utility’s aftermarket department. For more info, visit utilitytrailer.com.
