Trucker robbed at gunpoint at rest area in Oregon

There are still no leads in the case of a truck driver who was robbed Saturday, Feb. 2, at gunpoint at a rest area along Interstate 84 near Stanfield, OR.

Lt. Gregg Hastings, public information officer for the Oregon State Police, told Land Line on Tuesday that there are no new leads. He said the driver’s name, as well as the name of the trucking company, has not been released. 

According to the OSP release, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. as the truck driver, 55, from Alabama was returning to his truck after taking items to the trash can at the rest area.

“The suspect ordered the victim back into his truck where he robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the area in an unknown direction,” the release stated.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, average build with sandy blond hair, using a Bluetooth device.
