A ruptured pipeline, combined with bitter winter weather sweeping the nation, have six states issuing waivers on the transportation of heating oil and propane.
Connecticut’s waiver is only for the transportation of heating oil or propane. The state waiver of the hours-of-service regulation went into effect Jan. 25 and is set to expire tonight, Jan. 30 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Maine’s waiver of the hours-of-service regulation will continue through Feb. 1. The waiver applies to those hauling heating fuel and bulk petroleum products.
Michigan waived the hours-of-service regulation because of cold weather creating a propane shortage. It applies only to the transportation of propane and expires Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Nevada’s propane haulers waiver expires today, Jan. 30.
Utah is waiving the hours-of-service regulation for truckers hauling propane. It will expire on Feb. 1.
A pipeline issue prompted Wisconsin to waive the hours-of-service regulation for the transportation of propane. The waiver will expire Feb. 3.
