DEF prices remain steady, more locations at the pump

The average price for diesel exhaust fluid at the pump remained unchanged in both the United States and Canada in December 2012, according to a press release from DEF Tracker.

The average U.S. price held steady at $2.79 per gallon, although Love’s Travel Stops offers DEF for $2.69, the release says. The Canadian price remained at 80 cents per liter ($3.03 per gallon U.S.).

Love’s recently added DEF at the pump to its locations in Marshall, MI, and Oakdale, WI. The additions mark 203 of its locations to offer DEF pump-side, but fall short of the company’s goal to offer it at all locations by the end of 2012, DEF Tracker says.

TA Travel Centers installed DEF pumps at 31 of its TA and Petro locations in December, for a total of 194 locations, according to the release.

In addition, WilcoHess recently added DEF at the pump at 14 locations.

DEF Tracker publishes monthly market pricing for truckload and less-than-truckload bulk deliveries, tote refills and 2.5-gallon jugs, as well as DEF pump prices in every U.S. state and Canadian province offering the product.
