TRACER ALERT: Equipment thefts in New Jersey and Michigan

OOIDA’s TRACER website reports recent equipment thefts in New Jersey and Michigan.

A white 2006 Freightliner conventional was stolen between 8 p.m. Dec. 16 and 9 a.m. Dec. 17 from Erie Street and 11th Avenue in Paterson, NJ. The truck has “Irizarri Express LLC” in red lettering on the doors, a New Jersey license plate number of AN548C and VIN number 1FUJBBCK96LW88992.

“The northern part of New Jersey has seen a dramatic increase in truck thefts,” Doug Morris, OOIDA Director of Security Operations, said. 

In Michigan, a truck and trailer theft was reported at a truck stop on U.S. Highway 223 in Adrian. The truck is a blue 2005 Peterbilt 379 conventional with “Logos Distribution Services” on the sides. It has a louvered grille, single headlights and a red, white and blue swan hood ornament. The Michigan license plate number is RA5688 and VIN number is 1XP5DB9X25N841560.

The black 2013 Conestoga utility trailer has a Michigan license plate number of C453889, and the VIN number is reported as 1UYFS248XDA562005. If you have seen this truck and trailer, call 911 and 202-246-2698.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of each of these vehicles. Call 202-246-2698.

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in 2009 by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.
