The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has named Mark P. Compton as chief executive officer. Compton takes the helm Feb. 1, 2013, stepping in for Roger Nutt who cited health issues when he tendered his resignation Oct. 31.

Compton is currently the deputy secretary of administration for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Prior to that he worked as government affairs director for American Infrastructure.

Acting CEO Craig Shuey will serve until the changeover.
