Trucker Charity Christmas Group helping drivers during the holidays

| Friday, November 30, 2012

The 5th Annual Christmas Group is kicking into high gear. For the past four years these dedicated drivers have brightened the Christmas season for 59 families by providing more than $37,000 in funds.

They have been able to do this each year by selling trucking-related products and other items on their website.

What started off as a group pooling money together on a social network site has grown into a charity for the industry by the industry. Trucker Charity is a 501(c)(3) that helps truckers in need year round by “getting them fed, getting them safe, and getting them home.” In the past few months they were able to get five drivers home from being stranded on the road and help three others by coaching them through some trying times.

The minimum cash allotment given to each family is $500. Nominations for needy trucking families will be accepted through Dec. 19.
