Volvo makes $100,000 donation to hurricane relief efforts

The Volvo Group says it’s donating $100,000 to help with Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Half the money will go to the Red Cross. The other half will be split between relief funds in New York City and Allentown, PA.

The New York City donation will be used for food, water and supplies and to support long-term relief and restoration projects. Allentown will use the funds to replace the severely damaged roof of a fire station.

A Volvo official says that while the headlines are tapering off, the hard work of recovery continues.
