OOIDA’s TRACER website reports two recent equipment thefts, one in Utah and the other in Mississippi.
A 2011 white Volvo conventional and its loaded trailer were stolen between Saturday, Sept. 22, and Monday, Sept. 24, from 1475 W. 2100 St. in Salt Lake City, UT. The truck has “Hurstco West Gordon, UT” on the doors. The VIN number is listed as 4V4NC9EJ7BN533685, and the Utah license plate number is A510918. The trailer, a 2010 Great Dane, is white with stainless steel doors. The Utah license plate number is reported as Z017130 and the VIN number is 1GRAA0628AT554502.
In Mississippi, a canary yellow 2011 Peterbilt 389 was reported stolen from 2510 16th St. in Gulfport on Sept. 22. There are purple signs on the sleeper that read “Leased to Coastal.” The VIN number is listed as 1XPXDB9X6BD124623, and the Mississippi license plate number is A175549.
A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of each of these vehicles. Call 202-246-2698.
TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in 2009 by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.
