Police to ticket truckers parked along I-83 in Maryland

The Maryland State Police has announced it will start ticketing truck drivers parked along the shoulders of Interstate 83 in Baltimore County beginning Friday, Sept. 7.

According to the state police press release, troopers will be out in full force to issue truck drivers $60 tickets for those found parked along the shoulders of I-83 (for non-emergency reasons) from the Pennsylvania Line to Interstate 695.

Truckers can check the State Highway Administration’s website, www.sha.md.gov, for a list of welcome centers and rest area for parking. The release states that MSP weigh stations will also be available for commercial vehicle parking when the rest areas are closed.
