TQL will make one driver’s dream come true

The third-largest freight brokerage in the country says it wants to show its appreciation for truckers. On Monday, Aug. 27, Total Quality Logistics, whose corporate campus is in Cincinnati, OH, launched an online contest called “Drivers Dreams.” TQL will pay $10,000 to the trucker who submits the most compelling dream – whether it’s a week in the Bahamas, taking the Boy Scout troop to Yellowstone, or maybe just paying off some bills.

To be eligible you must be 21, have an active CDL, and be actively working in the trucking industry today. Drivers in all U.S. states and Canadian provinces (except Quebec) are eligible to enter.

TQL’s Kristine Glenn, spokesperson for Drivers Dream, said there are no strings attached and drivers do not have to purchase anything.

“We know drivers work hard and have dreams, but not often the time or means to see them through,” she said. “TQL wants to show our appreciation for what truckers do for the nation.”

The application form and rules can be found at driversdreams.com.

Glenn said TQL doesn’t need for drivers to write a big essay. There’s a place on the application for them to simply tell what their dream is. Dreams must be submitted Aug. 27-Sept. 12.

TQL’s dream team will pick their favorite submissions and post those finalists on the Drivers Dreams website during National Truck Driver Appreciation week, Sept. 16-22.

At that point, Glenn said anyone can vote for the most compelling dream. The most popular dream or combination of dreams will be granted cash to make those dreams come true. The winner will be announced Sept. 25. The $10,000 will be a cash award, said Glenn.

And that’s not all. Every dream submitted, every vote cast, and every click on the St. Christopher button – one per email address -- means a $1 donation to the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund, up to $25,000. The St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance to professional truck drivers who have medical problems.

TQL is no stranger to volunteering time and expertise to charitable organizations or causes. TQL’s numerous company-wide events and donations are organized by the company’s Community Relations Committee.
