Nebraska owner-operators and trucking companies have an opportunity to obtain cash rebates after installing APUs on their trucks.

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality is accepting applications for the Nebraska Clean Diesel Rebate Program until May 31. Under the program, applicants may obtain $3,500 per vehicle rebates for EPA-verified diesel or battery powered APUs.

Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. To apply, click here.

Eligible applicants must be Nebraska residents and must be registered to do business in Nebraska. They must either own the vehicle or, if leased, provide a written statement from the owner providing permission to alter the truck.

Trucks with a 2007 MY or newer engine are eligible only if they install a battery-powered APU. Trucks with 2006 MY engines and older are eligible to install either a diesel power or battery power APU.

All eligible trucks must be Class 8 vehicles equipped with a sleeper berth.
