TransAlive USA President Bob Hataway and Chaplain Joe Hunter, president of the Truckstop Ministries, met 14 years ago at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY, and planned a special prayer day for truckers. Next week, the two will welcome truckers to the 13th Annual National Day of Prayer for Truckers held during MATS.

The day for prayer is planned for 5 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at the Truckers Pavilion at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium parking lot. Hataway will serve as emcee.

Owner-operator Jan McCarter, an OOIDA member and singing artist, will present the national anthem and other music.

Chaplain Joe will voice the prayer. The prayer will be followed by music by Jerry and Sharon Benson. Sharon has won the Favorite Female Vocalist of the Year Award in the gospel music industry. Jerry is involved with trucking as a driver and as an owner-operator.

At 9:30 a.m., Sunday, March 25, a Trucker’s Fellowship Meeting is planned in the Papa John’s Stadium parking lot with Chaplain Joe and anyone that would like to attend.
