According to its sponsor, the entire industry is invited to participate in the third annual MATS Health Awareness Walk at 9 a.m., March 23, 2012, during the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY.

Sponsored by the Trucking Solutions Group, the MATS Health Awareness Walk is celebrating its third year as the first of its kind fitness event for the trucking industry. There is no cost, but registration is required.

Registration is available online at www.truckingsolutionsgroup.org. Registrants will receive T-shirts and goody bags while supplies last, plus giveaways.

Walkers will meet for refreshments at 8 a.m. in Room WH2 in the West Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center. The walk will begin at 9 a.m.

The MATS Health Awareness Walk is a non-competitive 1.5 mile course for anyone in the trucking industry who is thinking about getting fit. In order to accommodate all walkers, participants can choose the distance of their choice up to 1.5 miles. The walk is sponsored by the Trucking Solutions Group and Travel Centers of America (TA/Petro) with special thanks to the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“Being drivers ourselves, the Trucking Solutions Group realizes how hard it is to begin an exercise program,” says Linda Caffee. Caffee is an owner-operator, an OOIDA member, and member of the Trucking Solutions Group.

“The hardest step of any exercise program is the first,” she says. “Whether you are a marathon runner or someone who wants to take that first step, we invite you to join us.”

Caffee reports that another MATS event that involves the Trucking Solutions Group is the Second Annual Blood Drive. TSG is partnering with the American Red Cross for a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012. No appointment is needed. The location will be announced.
