The 41st Mid-America Trucking Show is set for March 22-24 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY. Here’s some info you might need if you are planning to go.
Q: What’s the show schedule?
A: The show will be held Thursday through Saturday, March 22-24. VIP hours on Thursday are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The floor will be open to the general public from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and the doors will open to the general public at 10 a.m. The show floor closes at 6 p.m. Saturday. Get there early because doors are open at 9 a.m. and the show ends at 4 p.m.
Q: Where is OOIDA going to be this year?
A: The better question may be where isn’t OOIDA going to be this year. The Association will have three booths at the 2012 show to make sure we see as many members of the OOIDA crew as possible, and the OOIDA tour truck will be at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
We will be in Booth 11128 in the North Wing and Booth 65229 in the West Wing. In the North Wing lobby, stop by Booth 40460. That’s where you can meet up with the Land Line Magazine staff and “Land Line Now” radio crew.
While you’re at it, bring some friends along and sign them up to be part of the only Association that aggressively fights for the rights of truckers every day. To make it even easier, we will be running a special on memberships during the show. It will cost only $25 to join or renew at MATS.
Q: How much are tickets?
A: Nothing, if you handle things right. Online preregistration at truckingshow.com continues until Feb. 22. Preregistrations received before Feb. 22 will be mailed at the end of February.
After Feb. 22, it will cost you $10 – either to preregister or at the door – to get into the show, and you will have to wait in line for your badge to be printed.
Q: Where can I park my truck?
A: Tractor/trailer parking is $30 and spots with hook-ups are available for $50. Spots with hook-ups must be reserved by calling 502-367-5384.
Free tractor-trailer parking is available courtesy of show management at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Shuttle buses to and from the Kentucky Expo Center are also provided for anyone parking at Papa John’s. This year, the shuttles to Papa John’s will be sponsored by Detroit (formerly Detroit Diesel).
