OOIDA TRACER ALERT: Truck, trailer stolen in Florida

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 – Posted at 9:22 a.m. CDT – Police in Kissimmee, FL, say a thief or thieves has stolen a tractor-trailer hauling a load of bagels.

According to OOIDA’s TRACER program, a black 1994 Peterbilt 379 with a white 1999 Utility trailer was stolen between 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, and midnight on July 15. The truck has “Jay Vee Trucking” on each side, and has three required yellow lights on the roof.

The truck’s New Jersey license plate is AL231X, and the trailer’s plate is T60Y9L. The trailer has “Toufayan Bakeries” painted on the sides, and a marking of “trailer #173.

The truck and trailer were reported stolen to TRACER on Wednesday morning.

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that both sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.

Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons.
