OOIDA TRACER ALERT: Truck stolen in New Jersey

Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 – Posted at 7:54 a.m. CST – New Jersey authorities are looking for two missing trucks apparently stolen in separate incidents.  

Police say a thief or thieves stole a red 1992 Kenworth T600 on Tuesday, Feb. 9, while the truck was parked near a trucking yard at 107 West Side Ave. in Jersey City, NJ.

According to OOIDA’s TRACER Web site, the Kenworth has yellow flames on the hood, and sports a New Jersey license plate “AD715W.” The Words “Rapid Container” are painted on the diesel tanks.

In the second case, a yellow 1995 Freightliner FLD120 was stolen while parked in an industrial area. The truck has blue fenders and the words “Owens Truckmen” painted on its doors. The theft occurred at Commerce Road and Industrial Lane in Linden, NJ.

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is two-way communication system that both sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.
