OOIDA TRACER ALERT: Truck stolen in Houston

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 – Posted at 1:24 p.m. CST – Houston-area police are looking for a truck stolen from a truck stop this week.

Police say a thief or thieves stole a red 2004 Freightliner Columbia from a truck stop on Mesa Drive in Houston.

According to OOIDA’s TRACER Web site, the Freightliner has “Tri Star Freight” painted on the doors, with truck number “126.” The truck sports a Texas license plate, “R89441.”

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.

Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons.
