OOIDA TRACER ALERT: Truck, reefer stolen in Miami

Monday, March 8, 2010 – Posted at 2:51 p.m. CST – Miami police are looking for a truck stolen from a residential area.

Police say a thief or thieves stole a white 1998 Freightliner at 41st Street and 12thAvenue in Miami.

According to OOIDA’s TRACER Web site, the Freightliner has “Reliable of Miami” painted on the doors, and sports a Florida license plate that reads “Z4213F.”

TRACER, the Transportation Alert Communication and Emergency Response program, was launched in the spring by OOIDA. The program is a two-way communication system that sends alerts to members and coordinates information received from trucking members.

Members can sign up to receive text messages and e-mail alerts for truck thefts and missing persons.

Truckers may call the TRACER hotline at 866-950-2291 or visit www.tracersystem.us to get the latest advisory or to report any information about stolen cargo or missing persons, etc.
