A truck driver died last week after being crushed between his trailer and a Pittsburgh loading dock.

Il Kim, 59, of Norton, IL, died Wednesday afternoon, according to the Alleghany County, PA, medical examiner’s office.

Kim died from “blunt force trauma and compression of the chest and abdomen,” said Martin Coyne, a forensic supervisor with the medical examiner’s office.

Several news reports said Kim had neglected to engage his truck’s parking brake. The Associated Press reported that Kim drove for the Chicago-based Kiswani Trucking Co.

Coyne said every industrial death in Pennsylvania is investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
