Georgia's I-75 north traffic detoured

| Friday, October 25, 2002

Road crews closed a seven-mile stretch of I-75 near Valdosta Oct. 23 for bridge repair work. Drivers will be detoured around the bridge while the damaged portion is repaired.

GDOT closed the affected stretch of I-75 North from Exit 22 to 29 about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after a northbound semi hauling a hydraulic excavator with its boom extended upward struck the Franks Creek bridge. While repairs are made to the bridge, northbound I-75 drivers will be detoured between Exits 22 and 29 using U.S. 41.
