Truckers passing through Rhode Island recently may have wondered if their mind was playing tricks on them if they caught a glimpse of a turkey dangling from an I-95 overpass. Eighteen-year-old Peter Reynolds faces animal cruelty charges after allegedly stealing a neighbor's turkey and dangling it from the Exit 2 overpass at Woodville Alton Road.
After several misses from passing vehicles, a car struck and killed the turkey, The Providence Journal reported. The gruesome episode was caught on tape by one of Reynolds' friends.
Reynolds was arraigned in District Court Oct. 10 and released on bail, according to the newspaper. He was ordered to have no contact with animals.
Reynolds reportedly faces felony counts of malicious injury to or killing of animals, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny. He also faces misdemeanor charges.
