Women In Trucking taking nominations for 2012 award

The Women In Trucking Association, with the support of Navistar, is requesting nominations for an award to honor the women who have been instrumental in creating change and providing leadership within the trucking industry.

This is the second year for the award, and nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Influential Woman of the Year.

Award candidates are defined as women who make or influence key decisions in a corporate, manufacturing, supplier, owner-operator, driver, sales or dealership setting. The individual must have a proven record of responsibility and must have mentored or served as a role model to other women in the industry.

Nominations will be accepted until Jan. 31, 2012, and may be submitted at womenintrucking2012.org.

Three finalists will be invited to attend the awards ceremony at the Truckload Carriers Association Conference onMarch 5, 2012, in Kissimmee, FL. The winner will be announced following a panel discussion that will focus on issues women face within the industry.
