| Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Round up your creative kids because it’s time for the “Be Ready. Be Buckled.” annual art contest.

The Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Belt Partnership “Be Ready. Be Buckled.” contest is held in conjunction with the American Society of Engineers’ North American Occupational Safety and Health Week, which takes place May 6-12, 2012. It’s a celebration aimed at increasing awareness about work safety.

OOIDA is a member of the CMV Safety Belt Partnership.

The “Be Ready. Be Buckled.” art contest focuses on urging truck, bus and all drivers to buckle up to save lives and reduce injuries.

Kids ages 5 through 12 with a relationship to people or organizations in the trucking and bus industries are welcome to participate. The deadline for art entries is Feb. 14, 2012.

Artwork should illustrate “the importance of commercial motor vehicle drivers buckling up.”

Winners will be honored at the 10th annual ASSE kids’ “Safety on the Job” poster contest awards ceremony in Washington, DC, during the NAOSH Week events.
