A trucker remained in jail in Gregg County, TX, on Wednesday after a police chase on Saturday, Oct. 1, that ended when an officer shot some of the tractor-trailer’s tires out with a rifle.

KCEN-TV reports 41-year-old Michael Cook of Moultrie, GA, had been pulled over on Interstate 20 near Tyler, TX, for not having a front license plate.

The officer who stopped him says Cook became angry and drove off, throwing trash out the window of the cab and making hand gestures as he drove.

State troopers were called in and Cook allegedly tried to hit one of the officer’s cars. That’s when another officer used an M-4 carbine to shoot out the tires.
