NAST 2011 season officially in gear

Cabela’s in Dundee, MI, June 3-5, was the place to be for fans and participants in the National Association of Show Trucks. They started the 2011 season with the eighth annual Great Lakes Truck Show, sponsored by Bogie’s Express.

OOIDA Member Jeremy Hassevoort of Hamilton, MI, is the first Truck-Lite series qualifier for 2011. He has a 1986 Peterbilt 359 and pulls a Utility reefer.

During the event, Joey Holiday entertained showgoers, trucks lit up the night with a parade of lights, and Detroit Radiator Corp. displayed their new traveling show trailer. It was also announced that OOIDA Life Member Alex Debogorski of “Ice Road Truckers” will attend the Eau Claire Big Rig Truck Show in Eau Claire, WI, Aug. 19-21.

Winners of the Great Lakes 2011 are:
Best of show – Working bobtail: Ron Huey, L.B. Trucking Inc.
Best of show – Working combination: Thomas Coaters, Bowling Transport
Best of snow – Non-working: David Sercombe, Sercombe Trucking
