OOIDA recognizes drivers for safe driving records

OOIDA recently announced honorees in the Association’s Safe Driving Award program. The following drivers have been recognized by the Association for truck driving excellence:

  • Kenneth W. Kidd of Afton, VA, has been recognized for 48 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls products for hospitals, prisons and nonprofit facilities.
  • Henry T. Miller of Harrisonburg, VA, has been recognized for 35 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls food products.
  • Roger D. Larkins of Chubbuck, ID, has been recognized for 32 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls special commodities.
  • Paul D. Taylor of Nixa, MO, has been recognized for 22 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls boats.
  • Edmund Warren of Little River Academy, TX, has been recognized for 22 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls military loads as well as general freight.
  • David W. Carr of Starkville, MS, has been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls asphalt.
  • Elvedin Habibic of Phoenix, AZ, has been recognized for 14 years of safe, accident-free driving. He currently hauls refrigerated products.

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based on the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
