An Ohio couple has pleaded guilty to stealing $1.3 million from a trucking company they partially owned.

The motor carrier eventually sank, leaving 55 people unemployed.

Scott and Linda Adair entered a guilty plea this week. The couple reportedly admitted taking $1.3 million between 2004 and 2006, spending the cash on their mortgage, sports tickets, jewelry, vacations and vehicles.

According to The Vindicator newspaper in Youngstown, Scott Adair pleaded guilty to aggravated grand theft, records tampering, telecommunications fraud and two counts of money laundering.

Linda Adair pleaded guilty to one count of complicity to commit theft.

The couple agreed to walk away from their home and leave possessions so victims can gain restitution later, the newspaper reported.

The Vindicator said the couple also faces a civil lawsuit by a former business partner that has yet to be resolved.
