Trucking companies are doing their part to help the people of tornado-ravaged Joplin, MO.
Joplin-based Con-way Freight donated some of its undamaged trailers for storage of relief supplies and the personal belongings of people who lost their homes.
Clothing and other items belonging to residents of a nursing home went into one of the trailers. But Con-way Vice President Randy Cornell says the truckload carrier quickly realized they needed more trailers than the company could provide, so they put out an appeal for help.
Cornell says not only did they get more trailers, but at last count the company had a list of more than a dozen other trucking companies that are willing to help out.
