OOIDA Senior Member David Lowry named SCRA president

During its annual member meeting at the end of April in San Diego, the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association elected Bennett Motor Express President David Lowry to lead the association for the 2011-2012 term. Lowry is one of four officers selected during SCRA’s recent annual conference.

Lowry has been a member of OOIDA since 2001 and is currently a senior member. He lives in McDonough, GA, home base of Bennett Motor Express.

Most recently, Lowry has held several board positions with SCRA, including vice president and transportation group chairman. He has more than 30 years experience in the industry and has received numerous industry awards and recognitions.

Bennett Motor Express was founded in 1974 and is the largest of eight operating companies within Georgia-based Bennett International Group LLC. BME has five divisions, including flatbed, stepdeck, government services, heavy haul, and air and space services. Specializing in hauling heavy, over-dimensional and unusual freight, BME has transported some of the largest pieces of equipment ever moved on the open road.
