The Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Belt Partnership has announced this year’s art contest for the campaign known as “Be Ready. Be Buckled.”

This year’s theme is “Safety Belts Save Lives!”

Children of truck and bus drivers or kids with a relationship with people in the industry are encouraged to participate by submitting original artwork that illustrates “the importance of commercial motor vehicle drivers buckling up.”

Grand prizes will be awarded in two age categories – grades K-2 and 3-6. Children selected as winners will be honored at the 9th annual American Society of Safety Engineers’ “Safety-on-the-Job” poster contest awards ceremony in Washington, DC, on May 2, 2011.
